Work Profile

The role entails the following:

1. Handling consumer disputes, including legal notices and consumer complaints. Coordinating with external counsels for the matters pending before various consumer fora. Attending hearings wherever required.

2. Vetting of all pleadings that are being filed on behalf of the Company in all matters.

3. Merchant / Partner recoveries/claim management as per contracts (Drafting Notices/Replies to third parties)

4. Support in any/all criminal complaints filed against the Company or its employees across the country, including physical presence and support wherever necessary. Ability to advice on legal strategy and provide support for timely resolution or issues while ensuring minimum risk.

5. Experience in handling IP issues including filing for trademarks, copyrights and patents. Constant monitoring of TMs to ensure filing of oppositions, notices to any brand that threatens to infringe the trademarks of the Company. Executing necessary action directly or through law firms, attending to all court proceedings, coordinating and briefing external counsels or firms, reviewing ubmissions, petitions, replies, documents prepared to be filed in all IP matters.

6. Labour law compliances for the Company. Ensuring timely compliance of all labour laws applicable to the Company including filing of returns.

7. Advise various internal departments on the any query or provide support as needed by such departments.

8. Develop a preventive strategy to resolve disputes and prevent it from escalating it to a litigation.

9. Draft and/or review agreements and other related documents.

10. Ensuring empanelment of the right set of law firms with PAN India presence for litigation, notice and complaint handling.

11.Creation and maintenance of a tracker for effectively managing litigation PAN India.

12. Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action, ability to anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically, identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate litigation risk.

13. Extensive and in depth research on various legal issues.

Qualifications:

The candidate must possess excellent communication and drafting skills. Proficiency of MS office ( Excel and Powerpoint) would be an added advantage.

Eligibility:

Candidate should possess minimum 5-7 years of experience in working as an in house counsel or in a law firm having experience in handling high stake litigation in the areas of consumer litigation, IP
